With so much that has happened over the past 2 years, should the question be ‘what is normal now?’ In NYC and LA, just like the rest of the country, so many places have closed or changed permanently. It’s remarkable. I do see glimmers of hope as new places open and people start venturing out and traveling again, safely.
Most artists that I know have also adapted, or changed in some way or the last 2 years. A few have fully embraced TikTok, Instagram, and other social media and have solely become content creators, creating art specifically for influencing. Some have dabbled in NFT art-tokens, while others have made ‘quality of life’ transitions. I can’t help but feel that embracing the future, whatever that looks like is the healthiest thing to do.
The last annual art sale I had was in 2018. I think it’s time to make room for the future. I’m inspired to paint more old buildings and abstracts and share memories of places I’ve remembered. Lovely Day restaurant, Caffe Reggio, The Landmark Diner, Meat Market, Block Drugstore, and Katz Deli are new additions to my New York series. If anyone has any locations they’d love to see painted, I’d love to hear it.
To help clear the palette, I’m offering a 20% discount on any original art in my shop until the end of the year. Feel free to share this discount code. You can use it as many times as you like until it expires. The discount does not apply to already regular reproductions… just original works and limited-edition prints. :-)
Thanks again for your support!
